Kepceoğlu, Abdullah; Ekincioğlu, Yavuz
This research explores the ground state geometry and molecular properties of FOX-7 and nitroguanidine molecules, with a focus on their spectroscopic and electronic characteristics. Initially, the conformational space of each molecule was systematically scanned using molecular mechanic calculations and the most probable conformer structure was obtained for each molecule. Subsequently, geometry optimizations of molecules were conducted by using ab initio density functional theory (DFT) with Becke’s three-parameter hybrid-exchange functional, which combines the Lee–Yang–Parr correlation functional (B3LYP) method, and the standard 6-311++G(d,p) basis set. The theoretically determined geometrical parameters from optimized structure and experimental values available in the literature were compared, providing validation for the structural properties of both molecules. Furthermore, the stability and reactivity properties of both molecules are estimated in terms of HOMO-LUMO energies. Overall, this study contributes to a comprehensive understanding of the ground state geometry, molecular structure, and spectroscopic behavior of FOX-7 and nitroguanidine, paving the way for potential applications in various fields of science and technology.

İncele - MakaleAçık Erişim2024A Study on Occupational Health and Safety in the Agricultural Sector in Türkiye: Analysis of Work Accidents, Occupational Diseases, and Lost Workdays
Ozdemir, Mustafa
The agricultural sector holds strategic economic importance due to its roles in food production, employment, and providing raw materials to industry. Türkiye is a significant agricultural country with its biological diversity, favourable climate conditions, and agriculture-based sector. According to the labor force statistics of the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), as of 2023, approximately 4.7 million people are employed in the agricultural sector in Türkiye, with the majority being seasonal workers. The farm sector includes field farming, livestock, fisheries, and forestry. Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) is vital for the sustainability of the agricultural sector. The Occupational Health and Safety Law No. 6331, which came into force in 2012, has mandated OHS provisions for all enterprises and employees in the agricultural sector. This study examines the statistics on work accidents, occupational diseases, and lost workdays in Türkiye's plant and animal production sector between 2018 and 2022 and evaluates the current state of OHS practices. Based on data from the Social Security Institution (SGK), the analysis reveals that 13,993 work accidents and 96 fatal work accidents occurred in the plant and animal production sector between 2018 and 2022, with the highest frequency of work accidents recorded in 2022. Additionally, 13 cases of occupational diseases were reported during the same period. An examination of temporary incapacity durations shows 133,008 days of incapacity reports, with the highest number occurring in 2021, influenced by the COVID-19 pandemic. The study's findings indicate that OHS practices in the agricultural sector are inadequate and need improvement. In light of these findings, various policy recommendations have been developed, such as the widespread implementation of OHS training, increased health screenings, and stricter OHS inspections.

- MakaleYayıncıda açık erişim2024Assessment The Effects of Psyllium And Hydrocolloids in Gluten-Free Noodle
Aktas, Kubra; Erten, Tayyibe
This study was performed to examine the effects of individual and combined usage of psyllium husk powder (PHP) with guar gum (GG) or locust bean gum (LBG) on the production of gluten-free Turkish-type noodles. For this purpose, six different formulations were created with the total amount of variables being 3%, and samples' physical, chemical, cooking, textural and sensorial properties were performed. The results revealed no significant decrease or increase in moisture, ash, protein and fat contents. On the other hand, although individual usage of psyllium caused a slight decrease in carbohydrate content, this did not reflect energy values. The lowest L* and hue and the highest a* values were observed in the samples where only psyllium was used, and there was no significant difference in b* and saturation index values. Regarding cooking quality and textural analysis, the results from these two analyses supported each other, and there is a significant difference between the samples. An additional disliking that can be considered significant was not determined by using psyllium with or without other gums in noodle formulation. As a result, the dual combined psyllium with other gums in gluten-free noodle production could be appropriate without adversely affecting the quality of the product.

Arí, Yilmaz Onur; Izgí, Fatma
Bosnia and Herzegovina's transition from socialism to capitalism has led to fundamental changes in the country's economic structure, with unemployment, FDI, economic growth, and information technologies becoming critical factors in this process. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) can promote economic growth and generate employment, helping to tackle unemployment through various channels. Bosnia and Herzegovina has been facing long-term unemployment for years. Thus, this study uses an Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) bounds testing approach and structural break technique to explore the impact of FDI, ICT, and growth on unemployment in Bosnia and Herzegovina for the period 1997-2022. The research findings indicate that FDI has a negative impact on unemployment in the long run. On the other hand, ICT has a positive impact on unemployment in the long run. Moreover, empirical findings demonstrated that there is a negative and significant relationship between growth and unemployment in the long run. This implies the validity of Okun's Law for Bosnia and Herzegovina. Furthermore, the study brings forth a crucial insight that the impacts of FDI on unemployment are not uniform and differ significantly based on the type of FDI inflows.
