Çakir, Zehra; Uğraş, Mustafa
This study aims to analyze scientific publications on the use of productive artificial intelligence tools in STEM education during early childhood between 2021 and 2025 using bibliometric methods. In this context, the international literature published during the relevant period was examined to identify scientific production trends, prominent authors, influential studies, institutional and international collaboration networks, and thematic focuses. A total of 1, 224 documents were included in the analysis. During the data analysis process, the Bibliometrix (Biblioshiny) software running on the R program was used; publication trends, keyword frequencies, citation analyses, author and institution collaborations, and scientific mapping techniques were utilized. The analysis findings show that academic interest in productive artificial intelligence tools has increased significantly between 2021 and 2025. The study also systematically identifies key trends, application areas, and research gaps related to the integration of these technologies into educational processes.
- Kitap BölümüYalnız künye2025Artificial Intelligence- Supported Formative and Summative Assessment Approaches in Blended Learning Environments
Yavuz, Mehmet; Kayali, Bünyami
This chapter explores the role of artificial intelligence (AI) and summative assessment in blended learning environments, beginning with the historical evolution of assessment systems. It highlights the limitations of traditional methods in objectivity, validity, inclusiveness, and feedback. AI technologies address these issues through functions such as personalised learning, real- time feedback, automated scoring, and enhanced test security. AI not only reduces teachers' workload but also enriches students' learning through data- driven insights. While formative assessment guides learning based on immediate performance data, summative assessment evaluates outcomes effectively. These AI- supported approaches transform assessment into a continuous, integrated component of the learning process. The chapter also addresses ethical concerns, such as data privacy and algorithmic fairness, stressing the importance of teacher competence and secure data handling. In conclusion, AI- enhanced assessment extends beyond traditional boundaries and becomes a dynamic tool to support learning.

Kayali, Bünyami; Balat, Şener
The increasing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications in educational activities is also evident in online education. By providing personalised and adaptive learning experiences and offering support for teachers by tracking student behaviours to make inferences about student success and performance, AI reduces teachers' workload, allowing them to focus more on educational activities. AI applications especially enable the rapid and easy completion of assessment and evaluation activities, which teachers often spend significant time and effort on. Within this scope, AI-supported tools are used in online education activities to perform automatic assessments, provide real-time feedback, and conduct data analysis and performance evaluation activities. In this context, the aim of the study is determined as the examination of measurement, evaluation, and feedback activities in online education with AI-supported tools.

- Kitap BölümüAçık Erişim2024Which tourist type cares more about environmental sustainability? a quantitative research
Apak, Ömer Ceyhun
This research aims to reveal the impact of tourist types (explorer, adventurer, organized mass, and drifter) on environmental sustainability. In addition, the primary objective of the research is to determine which type of tourist cares about environmental sustainability and at what level. The research was designed according to the relational screening model, one of the quantitative research approaches. The study sample consists of 491 domestic tourists who stayed in a hotel in Turkiye last year. Data were collected using tourist types and environmental sustainability scales. The study found a moderate and significant relationship between explorer, adventurer, organized mass, and drifter tourist types and environmental sustainability. Considering the relative importance levels of the variables used in the study within the scope of hierarchical regression analysis, it was determined that adventurer, explorer, drifter, and organized mass tourist types were significant predictors of environmental sustainability, respectively.
- Kitap BölümüYalnız künye2024Afghans ante portas: Looking at immigrants in Turkiye through google's peephole
Keskin, Savaş; Kömür, Gökhan
Bauman"s approach, conceptualised as "strangers at out door/ante portas", requires a relationship that requires us to look at immigrants from inside the door. This study focuses on how Afghans, who are collectively expected to be hated as the new "dangerous" strangers, appear in Turkiye. The images pro-vided by Google searches become a suffcient "peephole" through which to collectively see and imagine Afghans. This is because the "peephole" metaphor encompasses a symbolic context in which the fear of the "strangers at out door (ante portas)", the desire to see/observe them, and the parallax effect can be symbolically represented at a common root. In the study, by typing "Afghans" and "Afghan Migrants" in Turkish into the Google search bar, the visual (photographic) search results are used to establish relationships with alienation and otherness in the visual representation of Afghan identity.
- Kitap BölümüYalnız künye2024A hybrid method for determining the export sector and product for Turkey: Bayesian econometrics and multi-criteria decision analysis
Ozden, Erdemalp; Yaprakli, Sevda
Developing economies need to support strategic sectors that will transform their productive structures to ensure development. Therefore, the ability of these strategic sectors to produce exportable products is essential. This study follows a different path to determine strategically important export sector and products for Turkey, one of the countries struggling with the middle-income trap for a while. This different path is a hybrid method by combining the results of Bayesian econometrics with the analytical hierarchy process (AHP) method, one of the multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) methods. As a result, the export sector that should be prioritized is transportation, and export products are cars and vehicle parts. By applying the hybrid method in this study to other countries, strategic sectors and goods can be determined.

- Kitap BölümüAçık Erişim2023Isothiocyanates as drug candidates in cancer prevention and treatment
Saylan, Demet; Cebeci, Fatma
Cancer is the second most common cause of death worldwide. Many methods such as surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, etc. are being used for treatment. Most patients have a combination treatment with chemotherapy along with surgery or radiotherapy or both. Chemotherapy kills cancer cells by preventing them from reproducing, growing, and spreading in the body. Recently, safer alternatives to chemotherapy have been discovered and developed, as most of the drugs used in cancer treatment have side effects and a serious impact on patient comfort. As an alternative, the phytochemicals found in daily consumed plants are attractive candidates for clinical/pre-clinical evaluation because of their higher safety. In this context, certain degradation products of glucosinolates (isothiocyanates) are promising agents for cancer prevention and treatment.
- Kitap BölümüAçık Erişim2023Digitalization in management: The case of the metaverse
Battal, Fetullah; Öz, Halil H.
When the historical development of management is examined, it is seen that every age has created a management and organizational structure suitable for its own conditions. Therefore, today, management and organizational structures are experiencing a digital transformation as a necessity of the age. From this point of view, this study was carried out as a conceptual analysis in order to conceptually examine new terms such as digital management, digital transformation, and digital leader that emerged with digitalization in management structures to explain the change in management structures by comparing them with previous management structures and to eliminate the ambiguities about the concept of digitalization. In addition, another aim of this study is to compile explanations in the literature about the metaverse, which is described as a three-dimensional virtual world, and to evaluate the innovations, opportunities, concerns, and criticisms brought by the metaverse application.

- Kitap BölümüYalnız künye2022Gut effect on phytochemicals
Cebeci, Fatma
The gut microbiota play an important role for host nutritional, physiological, immunological functions like food digestion, vitamin production, protection of gut integrity, regulation of host immunity, and disease pathogenesis. Dietary phytochemicals are important factors to shape and change the human gut microbiota composition in diversity and abundance context. On the other hand, the microbial community of the gut provides a broad range of enzymes to host which are different from its own resources. This enables human gut microbiota to affect and direct the biosynthesis and metabolism of many bioactive compounds. Bioavailability of phytochemicals is important to benefit from health conferring effects of these compounds. Most of the phytochemicals are not absorbed well by the small intestine and pass through to the gut then gut microbiota acts on the compounds to form different metabolites. Therefore, elucidating the role of human gut microbiota on phytochemical metabolism is essential. This chapter discusses the studies reporting the gut microbial effect on different phytochemicals.
- Kitap BölümüYalnız künye2022Diplomatic transformation of series narrative: Velvet evolution of representation from valley of the wolves to valley of the wolves-ambush
Keskin, Savaş
In addition to what the studies on the discourse and character modeling of the Valley of the Wolves series say, this chapter argues that there has been a Neo-Ottomanization and religiosity evolution in terms of the discourse and the hero's semiosis. The thesis of this section is that Valley of the Wolves series has evolved in terms of narrative and character since it began to appeal to international target audiences. It is the main assumption of the section that there is a parallel transformation with the public diplomacy practices of the Republic of Turkiye in the process following the fact that the audience groups, especially in Arab geography, Afghanistan and Pakistan, where Islamic influence is dominant, become fans of the Valley of the Wolves. In this section, it is aimed to explain the velvet evolution, which exemplifies the transition from the Republican ideology to the Neo-Ottoman ideology in diplomatic media narratives, through the historical rupture of the Valley of the Wolves.

- MakaleAçık Erişim2019Scopus SJRQ3Integrated QFD, fuzzy linear regression and ZOGP: An application of e-store design
Celik, Pelin; Ustasuleyman, Talha
In the current, highly competitive marketplace, customer demand is a major factor in the product design process. Most firms make an effort to indicate that their products differ from the competitors’ products. The purpose of this paper is to understand customers’ expectations of and technical requirements for e-stores and to evaluate most popular e-stores in Turkey (i.e., ES1, ES2, ES3). In this study, the authors aim to understand the customer expectations and technical requirements by using quality function deployment (QFD). To prepare the house of quality (HoQ), the authors surveyed 20 experts who are customers who have elite membership (their expenses for these e-stores are more than regular customers and have elite cards) of the three e-stores and academicians. After creating the HoQ, the authors employ fuzzy linear regression to evaluate the relationships between customer expectations and technical requirements and among technical requirements themselves. Finally, the authors use zero-one goal programming (ZOGP) to select the most desirable e-store.

Karadag, Zekeriya; Devecioglu-Kaymakci, Yasemin
This chapter starts with an exploration of the media literacy literature and its place in the developing 21st century. The literature suggests that media literacy should be considered as one of the capstones for the skills needed for the 21st century citizens. In terms of developing media literacy skills, scholars look at the concept from either cognitive or social perspective, and the review reveals that both of them are closely related to each other. Moreover, the study asserts that cognitive and metacognitive skills play a significant role in developing the media literacy and the skills for 21st century. Then, the chapter presents a city-wide activity done in Bayburt, Turkey. It is our assumption that the case presented here may be an inspiring example for whom may want to explore different approaches.
