Ekincioglu, Yavuz
This study examines the adsorption properties of C2H4, F2, HCl, and H2S gases on 2PANI using density functional theory (B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p)). Adsorption energies follow the order: 2PANI-HCl > 2PANI-H2S > 2PANI-C2H4 > 2PANI-F2 including the BSSE corrections. Geometry optimizations and topological analyses (electrostatic potential, localized orbital locator and electron localization function) were performed using Multiwfn software. Mulliken charge analysis assessed the sensing potential of 2PANI for each gas. Time-dependent DFT was used to analyze molecular orbitals, reactivity indices, density of states, and UV-Vis spectra, revealing red or blue shifts depending on the gas type. The results confirm that C2H4, F2, HCl, and H2S can be physically adsorbed onto 2PANI. The recovery time and conductivity were evaluated to determine gas sensitivity performance.

Kadakal, Mahir; Işcan, Imdat; Kadakal, Huriye
Unfortunately, eleven of our provinces were severely affected due to two severe earthquakes that occurred in our country, the Republic of Turkey, on February 6, 2023. As a result, thousands of buildings were destroyed and tens of thousands of our citizens lost their lives. From past to present, such disasters have occurred in many parts of our world and will continue to happen. In order to raise awareness for researchers and academicians reading our article, we will give a new definition of convexity in this article, and we will call it "earthquake convexity". In this paper, we study some algebraic properties of the earthquake convexity. Then we compare the results obtained with both Hölder, Hölder-Işcan inequalities and power-mean, improved power-mean integral inequalities and show that the results obtained with Hölder-Işcan and improved power-mean inequalities are better than the others. Some applications to special means of real numbers are also given.

Şentürk, Şükrü; Ekincioğlu, Yavuz; Doğan, Ümit
The geometrical structures, stabilities, electronic properties and nonlinear optical response of the halogen doped bimetallic LinClK (n = 1–6) clusters were studied within the density functional theory. Based on the dissociation energy, second order energy difference and GH-L (HOMO-LUMO gap), the LinClK (n = 2, 4, 6) clusters are more stable. According to their ionization energies, the clusters can be classified as a superalkali. From the NBO analysis, the clusters are excess electron systems. The obtained first static hyperpolarizability (o) values are in the range of 1.56 × 104 − 4.33 × 104 au while the second static hyperpolarizability vary within 2.47 × 106 au to 13.9 × 106 au for the LinClK (n = 1–6) superalkalis that are slightly higher than the nonlinear optical response of halogen doped monometallic clusters. More importantly, the Li5ClK is transparent in the deep UV region ( < 300 nm) among the superalkalis indicating that the Li5ClK superalkali can be a candidate structure as new member of NLO materials.

Karaali, Rabi; Keven, Arzu
The purpose of this article is to evaluate four different gas turbine cogeneration cycles which are basic, absorption cooling, air heating and air fuel heating cogeneration cycles by using the most important six evaluation criteria for different excess air coefficient, different compression rates, and different compressor inlet air temperatures. These six evaluation criteria are electrical heat ratio, exergy efficiency, incremental heat rate, artificial thermal efficiency, fuel energy saving ratio, and specific fuel consumption. It is seen that the air-fuel heating cogeneration cycle is the most efficient among the cycles examined for a certain compressor compression ratio, followed by the air heating, basic, and absorption cooling cycles.

Atasbak, Musa; Keven, Arzu; Karaali, Rabi
Cryogenics has an important influence on industry and science. In this study, optimum working conditions are obtained by applying exergy analysis and local optimization methods to two- and three-stage vapor compression cascade cryogenic cycle. The first and second laws of thermodynamics, exergy analysis, and local optimization methods are applied to the two- and three-stage cascade cryogenic cycle. By considering the needs and demands, it is possible to create new cycles by adding new devices and/or new stages to these cycles. The results of the optimum operating conditions are obtained for the two- and three-stage vapor compression cascade cryogenic cycle. It is seen that to achieve high COP values and high efficiency; it is necessary to reduce the compression ratio of the compressor as much as the fluid allows. For the two-stage cycle, the minimum total work required for cryogenic cooling is around P 7 = 2,400 kPa. The COP value is 0.30 between P 7 = 2,400 and 2,800 kPa, and the maximum exergy efficiency is obtained around 0.235. It is seen operating the first-stage compressor at high pressures increases the total losses of the entire cycle from 7,500 to 18,550 kW. The increase in total exergy losses is around 247%, and operating the first-stage compressor at high pressures increases the exergy efficiency of the entire cycle. The increase in total exergy efficiency is around 160%. When the second-stage compressor is operated at low pressure, the COP value increases by 2%, the exergy efficiency increases by 20%, and the exergy losses decrease by around 40%.

Ürkek, Bayram; Şengül, Mustafa; Akgül, Halil İbrahim; Kotan, Tuba Erkaya
The aim of this study was to determine the influence of sloe berry (SB) addition at different ratios on the physical, chemical, antioxidant, colour and sensory properties and mineral contents of ice creams. The increment of SB led to the an increase of titratable acidity, overrun, viscosity and ash values, first dripping and complete melting times; in contrast, it decreased the total solid, pH and fat values. Mn and Zn values were affected significantly (P < 0.05) by the addition of SB but other element levels were not affected. L* and b* values decreased significantly in all samples as compared with control sample, while a*, H°, C* and ∆E* increased significantly with addition of SB. Antioxidant activity was the highest in the sample containing 15 % SB (w/w) among ice cream samples. The ice cream samples containing 15 % SB had higher score than the control sample in terms of colour and appearance, gumming structure and general acceptability.

Saricaoglu, Furkan Turker; Turhan, Sadettin
In the present study, the functional properties of mechanically deboned chicken meat proteins (MDCM-Ps) were determined at different pH (2, 4, 6, 8 and 12), and film-forming properties were evaluated depending on MDCM-P (2, 3 and 4%) and glycerol (30, 40 and 50%) concentrations. The highest solubility, emulsifying and foaming properties were determined at pH 12. MDCM-P solutions showed non-polyelectrolyte behavior and gelation onset temperature was determined at 36°C. Film-forming properties of MDCM-P showed that the tensile strength decreased, and elongation at break increased as glycerol concentration increased. Films became more transparent with increasing glycerol and decreasing protein concentration, while water vapor permeability increased with increasing glycerol and protein concentration. Water sorption data of films were fitted to the Guggenheim, Anderson, and De Boer model. In general, equilibrium moisture content of films increased as glycerol level increased. Overall, the results showed that MDCM-P could be useful as a new protein source for both food and packaging industries.

Ayazoglu, Rabil; Hasanov, Javanshir J.
We consider the generalized shift operator associated with the Laplace-Bessel differential operator Δ B = i=1 n 2 x i 2 +i=1 k γ i x ix i .Δ -B=Σ -i=1ⁿ(∂ ²)/(∂ x-i²) +Σ -i=1^k (γ -i)/(x-i)(∂)/(∂ x-i). The maximal operator M γ M-γ (B-maximal operator) and the Riesz potential I α,γ I-α ,γ (B-Riesz potential), associated with the generalized shift operator are investigated. We prove that the B-maximal operator M γ M-γ and the B-singular integral operator are bounded from the generalized weighted B-Morrey space p,ω 1 ,φ,γ (k,+ n )cal M-p,ω -1,φ ,γ (ℝ-k,+ⁿ) to p,ω 2 ,φ,γ (k,+ n )cal M-p,ω -2,φ ,γ (ℝ-k,+ⁿ) for all 1<p<1 < p < ∞ , φA p,γ (k,+ n )φ ∈ A-p,γ (ℝ-k,+ⁿ) . Furthermore, we prove that the B-Riesz potential I α,γ I-α ,γ , 0<α<n+|γ|0<α <n+|γ | , is bounded from the generalized weighted B-Morrey space p,ω 1 ,φ,γ (k,+ n )cal M-p,ω -1,φ ,γ (ℝ-k,+ⁿ) to q,ω 2 ,φ,γ (k,+ n )cal M-q,ω -2,φ ,γ (ℝ-k,+ⁿ) , where α/(n+|γ|)=1/p-1/qα /(n+|γ |)=1/p-1/q , 1<p<(n+|γ|)/α1<p<(n+|γ |)/α , φA 1+q/p ' ,γ (k,+ n )φ ∈ A-1+q/p^′,γ (ℝ-k,+ⁿ) and 1/p+1/p ' =11/p+1/p^′=1 .

- MakaleAçık Erişim2013Scopus SJRQ1Solutions of an anisotropic nonlocal problem involving variable exponent
Avci, Mustafa; Ayazoglu, Rabil A.; Cekic, Bilal
The present paper deals with an anisotropic Kirchhoff problem under homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions, set in a bounded smooth domain Ω of ℝN (N ≥ 3). The problem studied is a stationary version of the original Kirchhoff equation, involving the anisotropic p→(.)-Laplacian operator, in the framework of the variable exponent Lebesgue and Sobolev spaces. The question of the existence of weak solutions is treated. Applying the Mountain Pass Theorem of Ambrosetti and Rabinowitz, the existence of a nontrivial weak solution is obtained in the anisotropic variable exponent Sobolev space W01p→(.) (Ω), provided that the positive parameter λ that multiplies the nonlinearity f is small enough.
