Battal, Fetullah; Öz, Halil Hakdan
The increase in electronic and computer-based communication and information sharing has significantly altered individuals’ social communication, learning methods, and entertainment styles. Digitalization has made individuals a part of the virtual world in almost every field, such as education, communication, and trade. With the digital age, the tools used by individuals in business and daily life are changing. Internet technologies that facilitate working life for organizations have become indispensable today. Information and communication technologies have increased communication channels, which have improved formal and informal relations between employees, thus enabling them to solve their work in a fast, easy, and accessible way without waiting. However, in addition to the mentioned contributions, it is known that digitalization has negative effects on the individual’s psychology and business life. These negative effects cause the development of cyberbullying in organizations. Cyberbullying refers to intentional and hostile behavior that aims to harm the individual using digital and technological tools. Cyberbullying cases are also observed in organizations where digitalization is intense and strong. It is possible to see the presence of cyber bullies who do not feel effective and adequate when they interact directly in organizations, and therefore tend to create a negative and harmful effect by hiding themselves online, with the disturbing messages they send, humiliating comments on social networks, and threatening and intimidating posts they publish. For example, a manager criticizing an employee in a humiliating language in a public email or an employee spreading unfounded information about another employee on social media is considered in this context. Exposure to humiliating, threatening, and intimidating behaviors in digital environments negatively affects employees. Employees exposed to cyberbullying may have psychological symptoms such as work-related stress, anxiety, irritability, fear, and depression. Physically, insomnia, headache, and general health problems can be observed. This situation leads to behaviors that will negatively affect organizational activities, such as low job satisfaction, distrust towards the organization, decreased organizational commitment, and disengagement from work. Organizations need to develop effective policies to prevent cyberbullying. In order to increase the effectiveness of the policies to be developed, it is important to anatomically examine how cyberbullying behavior is shaped, with which tools it is done, and its effects. In this respect, this study aims to examine the antecedents, tools, and consequences of cyberbullying in detail and thus to develop recommendations to prevent cyberbullying.

- Kitap BölümüYalnız künye2025New Evidence on the Relationship between Sustainable Economic Growth, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation
Imamoğlu, Ilyas Kays; Coşkun, Hüseyin
One of the primary goals of economic policies in countries is to achieve sustainable economic growth. The notion that sustainable economic growth can solve fundamental economic issues has given significant importance to concepts related to economic growth. In the economic literature, the discussion on the primary sources of economic growth has gained renewed attention with the contributions of Joseph Alois Schumpeter (1883-1950), an Austrian economist, political scientist, and sociologist. Schumpeter emphasized the role of entrepreneurs in economic development and was the first to argue that entrepreneurs drive innovation. Schumpeter argued that entrepreneurs are the main drivers of economic growth as they introduce their innovations into the production process. Technological progress is achieved through innovation. Although Schumpeter was unable to model his views on entrepreneurship and innovation at the time, his theoretical implications for their interaction have inspired researchers. Entrepreneurs are essential actors that cannot be ignored, both as a first step in organizing basic economic activities and as a key solution to meet economic needs. However, the impact of entrepreneurship on economic growth depends on the generation and implementation of novel ideas. New thoughts and ideas can lead to the discovery of new needs, which in turn can lead to the production of innovative products necessary to meet those needs. As a result, an increase in production can lead to an increase in economic growth. Studies on this subject have concluded that the impact of entrepreneurship and innovation on economic growth depends on the optimal level of development in these areas. Based on this idea, in this study, the relationship between entrepreneurship, innovation, and economic growth has been investigated theoretically and empirically from a current perspective. As a result of the analysis, it was found that entrepreneurship positively affects economic growth, whereas innovation does not have a significant effect on economic growth.
- Kitap BölümüYalnız künye2024Marketing of green energy
Yilmazel, Sefa Emra
After the 1970s, the issue of green energy started to come to the fore more after the oil crisis (Hartmann and Ibanez, 2012). Thus, consumers were made more conscious about energy consumption, and those who had the opportunity were directed to many types of green energy such as renewable energy sources, solar, thermal, and wind energy (Shi, Wei, and Shahbaz, 2023). Currently, some consumers accept to pay a premium price for green energy. Increasing the number of these consumers will produce important outputs such as protecting nature, preventing the climate crisis, and protecting energy resources in the future (Jabeen, Ahmad, and Zhang, 2021). In this direction, many governments around the world encourage producers of renewable energy and take effective steps. Although it is notsufficient at the moment, it is predicted that much higher amounts of green energy will be produced in the future with the steps taken in this regard (Leijten et al. 2014). Therefore, it will be sufficient not only to increase the amount of green energy production but also to increase the number of consumers directed to green energy. In particular, higher production costs appear to be an important factor that delays consumers' adoption of green energy (Sundt and Rehdanz, 2015; Usova and Velkin, 2018). Apart from price, it is seen that many socioeconomic and psychological variables are effective in consumers'adoption of green energy (Herbes and Ramme, 2014; Xiong, Li, Wang, and Wang, 2020). Among them, there are many elements such as household income, household size, age, attitude, green norms, ecological conservation behavior, and knowledge of renewable energies. Thus, adetailed study is required in order to understand consumers in depth and act in this direction, and raise the awareness of consumers about green energy. Therefore, the aim of this book chapter is to reveal the variables that lead to and prevent consumers from using green energy.
- Kitap BölümüYalnız künye2024Green entrepreneurship and sustainable economic growth: A conceptual research
Esmer, Yusuf; Imamoglu, Iyas
In recent years, environmental and economic problems, such as financialcrises, global pandemics, natural disasters, and climate change, have revealed the importance of sustainable economic growth and green entrepreneurship within sustainability. Sustainable economic growth is an economic growth model that does not put significant pressure on the prices of goods and services, ensures that resources are consumed at a level that does not adversely affect future generations, allows the conscious use of natural resources and does not significantly harm the environment. Green entrepreneurship is a new type of entrepreneurship that aims to generate and implement solutions to environmental problemsand promote social change to prevent environmental damage. Research shows a close relationship between green entrepreneurship and sustainable economic growth. This study aims to reveal the link between green entrepreneurship and sustainable economic growth. In the study, the conceptual research technique is used within the scope of the qualitative research method. Based on academic research and currentdata, the relationship between green entrepreneurship and sustainable economic growth is examined. As a result, the study emphasizes that humanity can reach a sustainable future by promoting environment oriented economic growth with green initiatives.
- Kitap BölümüYalnız künye2023Industry 4.0 and organizational agility in the context of digital transformation
Esmer, Yusuf; Yuksel, Muhammet
Organizational transformations, which started with the transition from workshop production to the assembly line, have moved to another dimension with the rapid developments in technology today. Therefore, it is seen that the transformation in organizations has shifted to digital areas with the effective use of Industry 4.0 technologies, and the digitalization process is experienced even in very simple organizations. The survival of organizations in an increasingly difficult competitive environment depends on the digital transformations they can perform in these processes. In this context, the ability to anticipate changing customer expectations and competitive conditions, as well as to respond quickly to customer demands, shows the agility level of organizations. In this study, based on the relevant literature, advanced technological changes that emerged with Industry 4.0 in the context of the digital transformation process and their effects on organizational life and the reactions of organizations to these changes are evaluated within the scope of organizational agility. As a result, it can be said that the concept of organizational agility is important because it is thought that the digital transformation process, which is very fast today, will accelerate in the future and some organizations or organizational activities are thought to end.

- Kitap BölümüYalnız künye2022Reflections on sustainable consumption in the time of the COVID-19 pandemic
Yildiz, Tuğba; Başar, Enes Emre
The COVID-19 pandemic, which has caused severe diseases and deaths around the world, impacts not only health, but also daily lives, economies, and social systems. It is observed that consumers' purchasing patterns and preferences have changed significantly along with the new normal brought by the pandemic. For example, tons of plastic waste each day caused by disposable masks used to prevent the spread of viruses and the dramatic increase in disposable plastic tableware waste caused by the increasing number of food deliveries and takeaway meals as a result of measures such as social distancing and quarantine lead to significant environmental concerns. Furthermore, the additional packaging waste generated by e-commerce trades, which increases incrementally every day, is also an important source of environmental concerns. Although a growing number of consumers are interested in preserving the environment and participating more actively in sustainable consumption around the world, the changes caused by COVID-19 in their lives deeply affect sustainable consumption behaviors. Therefore, the discussion of how sustainable consumption behaviors of consumers are affected during the pandemic may contribute to the development of new strategies in this field. From this point of view, the effects of environmental concerns and sensitivity on sustainable consumption were first discussed from different aspects in this section. Then, the reflection of the pandemic on consumer behaviors was analyzed within a general framework. Finally, how the pandemic influenced the tendency toward sustainability was revealed.
- Kitap BölümüYalnız künye2017Analysis of structures by total potential optimization using meta-heuristic algorithms (TPO/MA)
Toklu, Y.C.; Toklu, N.E.
Use of meta-heuristic algorithms in analysis of structures is much more recent than their use in design of structures. Effectively, while design optimization makes use of genetic algorithms, simulated annealing, swarm optimization, etc. since about half a century with an increasing interest, these techniques are being used in structural analysis since a decade only. Total Potential Optimization using Meta-heuristic Algorithms (TPO/MA), though being an emerging method at the moment, has proved to be very efficient in solving nonlinear problems, involving both material and geometric nonlinearities. The capabilities of the method in treating under-constrained problems and problems with non-unique solutions are much more advanced than the classical methods including the well-known Finite Element Method.
