Bal, Betul; Kaba, Nagihan Koroglu; Öztürk, Havva
Objective: The aim of the study was to adapt the Clinical Reasoning Scale into Turkish and to evaluate its validity and reliability in nursing students. Methods: The study, which is methodological research, was conducted with 271 nursing students at a university in the Central Anatolia Region. The data were collected with the Personal Information Form and the 'Clinical Reasoning Scale' in its draft form. After the language and content validity of the scale, its construct validity was ensured by confirmatory factor analysis. Cronbach Alpha, item -total correlations, divergent and test -retest methods were used for the reliability of the scale. Results: The fit indices of the Clinical Reasoning Scale for its 4 sub -dimensions, namely awareness of clinical clues, verification of clinical problems, identification and implementation of actions, evaluation and reflection, and a total of 16 items, are above 0.90, and according to these results, the structure of the scale is accepted as valid. The average explained variance of the subdimensions is between 0.476-0.579, and the composite reliability is between 0.778-0.854. The total Cronbach Alpha of the scale is 0.92. There is a significant difference between the top 27% and the bottom 27% groups of the scale and the test -retest correlation coefficient is 0.902. Conclusion: It has been determined that the Clinical Reasoning Scale is a valid and reliable scale that can be used to determine the level of clinical reasoning in nursing students with 16 items and 4 sub-dimensions.

İncele - MakaleAçık Erişim2022Nurses’ Perceptions of Clinical Governance Climate
Öztürk, Havva; Kaba, Nagihan Köroğlu
Background: Clinical governance climate is a governance approach that aims at supporting\rcommunication and interaction, minimizing errors, and continually improving and developing\rservice process in organizations.\rMethods: The study population was composed of 1845 nurses working at public, university,\rand private hospitals in Trabzon Province. The sample was composed of 315 nurses recruited\rusing a stratified sampling method. Data were collected using Information Request Form\rand Clinical Governance Climate Questionnaire.\rResults: According to the nurses, the clinical governance climate score of hospitals was\r182.62 ± 28.32 (min = 60, max = 300). In the study, it was found that the average total score\rand the sub-scale scores of the clinical governance climate of those nurses who were (1)\raged ≤25 years and ≥36 years; (2) were female; (3) worked in managerial positions; (4) chose\rthe clinical service where they were employed willingly; (5) were satisfied with the clinical\rservice, nursing profession, and managers; (6) cared for 11-20 patients in a shift, knew what\rclinical governance was; and (7) joined trainings/meetings about clinical governance were\rsignificantly and statistically different as compared to other nurses (P < .05).\rConclusion: Nurses regarded and assessed the clinical governance climate of the hospitals\rwhere they worked as moderate. As a result of the study, it was recommended that educations\rand trainings about clinical governance climate be provided to nurses; interventions\rthat will maximize their satisfaction be made; they be given the chance to choose the clinical\rservicers where they will work; and the number of patients be kept balanced.

Öztürk, Havva; Kaba, Nagihan Köroğlu
Aim: The purpose of the current study was to perform Turkish validity and reliability tests of the\r“Individual Work Performance Questionnaire”.\rMethod: This methodological study was undertaken with 309 nurses who worked at two public\rhospitals located in the Black Sea Region. The data were collected using the “Information\rRequest Form” and “Individual Work Performance Questionnaire”. Analyses of language and\rcontent validity, construct validity, and reliability was performed.\rResults: The average age of the participating women was 28.77±6.25 years, average\rprofessional experience was 6.73±5.76 years, 85.4% of the participants were female (n=264),\r54% were single (n=167), and 60.2% had undergraduate degrees (n=186). It was seen that\rthe content validity index of the questionnaire was .96. The confirmatory factor analysis results\rwere; X2\r/sd= 2.55, RMSEA= .071, GFI= .92, CFI= .92, NFI= .88, IFI= .92 and TLI= .90. The total\rquestionnaire Cronbach alpha coefficient was ,80.\rConclusion: As a result, the “Individual Work Performance Questionnaire” made of 14 items\rused to determine nurses’ work performance levels was valid and reliable. Nurses’ work\rperformance levels could be measured correctly and consistently.
