  Evaluation of Prospective Teachers and Practice Classroom Teachers Opinions of problems Encountered in Practice Schools (Bayburt University sample)

  In this study, prospective teachers' and practice classroom teachers' opinions on the problems encountered during the schoolteaching practice class in the practice schools have been examined. The study has been conducted with 125 senior prospective teachers at B. U. Education Faculty, Primary Education, Primary School Teaching Department, and 21 practice classroom teachers that work at practice schools. The present study is case study, one of the qualitative researches. The data about the opinions of the prospective teachers and the practice classroom teachers were collected through the 'Interview form' developed by the researchers, and 'Practice Teacher Proficiency Scale' that was developed by Kiraz (2003) in order to find out the prospective teachers' views regarding the practice classroom teachers. Besides, 18 students who were willing have been interviewed. The data obtained out of the interview forms were analyzed with the help of descriptive statistics; the data obtained out of the interviews were analyzed with the help of qualitative data analysis techniques; and the data gathered out of the scale were analyzed with the help of SPSS 18.0 statistics packet. In line with the findings, some suggestions towards the classroom teaching education and the applications in primary schools have been presented. (C) 2013 The Authors. Published by Elsevier Ltd.   Sınıf öğretmeni adaylarının sınıf yönetimine ilişkin algılarının çeşitli değişkenler açısından incelenmesi

  Bu araştırmada sınıf öğretmeni adaylarının sınıf yönetimi becerilerine ilişkin algılarını cinsiyet, sınıf düzeyi ve öğretim türü değişkenleri açısından incelemek amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla, araştırmanın örneklemini Bayburt ve Ondokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi Eğitim fakültelerinde öğrenim gören 401 sınıf öğretmeni adayı oluşturmuştur. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak İlgar (2007) tarafından geliştirilen "Sınıf Yönetimi Becerileri Ölçeği" kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde aritmetik ortalamanın yanı sıra bağımsız gruplar için t testinden faydalanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda sınıf öğretmeni adaylarının sınıf yönetimi becerilerine ilişkin algılarının "iyi" (x̄=3.91) düzeyde olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca öğretmen adaylarının sınıf yönetimine ilişkin algılarında cinsiyet ve öğretim türüne göre .05 düzeyinde anlamlı farklılık oluşmazken sınıf düzeyi açısından anlamlı bir farklılık oluştuğu gözlenmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular, öğretmen adaylarının sınıf yönetimi becerilerini geliştirecek düzenlemelere gereksinim duyduğunu ortaya koymuş ve bu doğrultuda öneriler getirilmiştir.

  Investigation of university students' attitude toward the use of powerpoint according to some variables

  In this study it is aimed to investigate whether university students' attitudes toward the use of PowerPoint as a supporting teaching tool in the lectures change according to variables such as gender, academic units attended. For this purpose, the sample consisted of total 653 students who enrolled, Faculty of Education (N=287), Faculty of Engineering (N=125), School of Economics and Administrative Sciences (N=92) and Vocational School (N=149) in Bayburt University. Data was collected using "attitude toward the use of PowerPoint" scale. Additionally, students' opinions of the use of PowerPoint as a supporting teaching tool was collected from their responses to a questions form developed by researchers, then written documents analyzed to reveal their opinions with respect to the use of PowerPoint. The data obtained was statistically analyzed (ANOVA). It was found that there is no any statistically meaningful difference in the participants' attitude toward the use of PowerPoint in respect to gender, but there was significant difference in the participants' attitude toward the use of PowerPoint according to academic units attended. Recently, the findings were discussed in terms of the use of PowerPoint as a supporting tool in the lectures and its importance.
