This study establishes EUROFIT reference values for physical fitness and anthropometric measurements in children aged 7-11 years in urban Kosovo. Analyzing data from 500 participants, the study examines age- and sex-based variations in motor abilities and morphological traits. Data was collected over three months, from April through June 2023, in a typical school setting during regular physical education class times. This environment was typically utilized by students to reduce performance variability caused by external conditions. Results reveal age-related increases in height, weight, and strength measures, consistent with growth trends during childhood. Boys showed higher performance in strength and power tests, while girls exhibited greater flexibility. The EUROFIT battery proved effective for assessing physical fitness across age groups. This research fills a data gap in Kosovo, providing valuable reference values for educators, coaches, and policymakers aiming to promote children’s health and physical activity.

In addition to the environmental problems that have plagued human life in recent decades, the outbreak of the coronavirus epidemic has endangered people's health and adversely affected their lives in other ways. Therefore, the present study aimed to investigate the advantage of using shared bicycles (SB) during the outbreak of epidemics. For this purpose, 310 male subscribers of an SB system were examined. The research tool was a questionnaire taken from studies. The results showed that the environmental and health advantages were favourable, but the place advantage indicated a relatively unfavourable situation. The results of the structural equation model also showed that the advantages of using an SB based on the highest impact are the motivational advantage, health advantage, environmental advantage, social advantage, financial advantage and place advantage. These results can provide useful solutions for governments to reduce environmental risks and maintain health and physical activity during epidemics.

- MakaleAçık Erişim2021Scopus SJRQ3The validity and reliability study of who quality of life scale short form (whoqol-bref) in Kazakh language
Yermakhanov, Baglan; Zorba, Erdal; Turkmen, Mutlu; Akman, Onur
The purpose of the current study is to test the validity and reliability of WHO quality of life scale short form (WHOQOLBref ) in Kazakh language. In this sense, a total sum of 509 students, 208 men (40.9%) and 301 women (59.1), volunteered in the study. The scale was made up of 26 items and 5 sub-dimensions (General Health, Physical Health, Psychological Health, Social Relations and Environment). In the analysis of the study, Confirmatory Factor Analysis was used regarding the structural validity of the inventory and Cronbach Alpha reliability analysis was used to determine internal consistency. In the confirmatory factor analysis results, goodness of fit index values were found as x2/sd(x2=936.08, sd=289)=3.23, GFI=0.88, CFI=0.86, NFI=0.80, RMSEA=0.66, SRMR=0.52, RMR=0.47. Internal consistency coefficient numbers were determined as 0.60 and 0.90. As a conclusion, it is likely to say that "WHO Quality of Life Scale Short Form (WHOQOL-Bref ) in Kazakh Language" is a valid and reliable assessment tool.

- MakaleAçık Erişim2021Scopus SJRQ3An analysis of the role of the social acceptance of university students’ bicycle use in sustainable urban development when epidemics spread
Saatchian, Vahid; Azimkhani, Amin; Honari, Habib; Türkmen, Mutlu
The purpose of this study was to investigate the role of the acceptance of university students’ bicycle use in sustainable urban development in Iran when epidemics spread. The research method was descriptive-correlational, and the investigation was carried out as a field study. The statistical population of the study consisted of university students, 254 of whom were selected by a simple random sampling method to participate in the research. The research instrument was a questionnaire based on the Sustainable Development with a reliability coefficient of 0.83; the social acceptance component was based on the theory of planned behaviour with a reliability coefficient of 0.8. As the results of the investigation have demonstrated, the bicycle plays a significant role in the development of the socialization process of people, and there is a positive and significant relationship between social acceptance and sustainable development (p<0.05). Furthermore, 20% of sustainable development change was achieved through the dimensions of social acceptance (planned behaviour theory). Finally, it can be argued that perceived behaviour in social acceptance is most likely to play a significant role in the emergence of sustainable development by external factors such as encouragements and persuasion of the family, important people, friends, acquaintances, and even by the existing norms in society. Subsequently, as people change their mindset when epidemics spread, they can turn all the behaviours they manifest in their leisure time into a culture development movement.
