On an attraction-repulsion chemotaxis model involving logistic source

    Akkoyunlu, Ebubekir

    This paper is concerned with the attraction-repulsion chemotaxis system involving logistic source: ut = ∆u − χ∇ · (u∇υ) + ξ∇ · (u∇ω) + f(u), ρυt = ∆υ − α1υ + β1u, ρωt = ∆ω − α2ω + β2u under homogeneous Neumann boundary conditions with nonnegative initial data (u0, υ0, ω0) (W1,∞ (Ω))3,the parameters χ, ξ,α1, α2, β1, β2 > 0, ρ ≥ 0 subject to the non-flux boundary conditions in a bounded domain Ω c RN (N ≥ 3) with smooth boundary and f(u) ≤ au − µu2 with f(0) ≥ 0 and a ≥ 0, µ > 0 for all u > 0. Based on the maximal Sobolev regularity and semigroup technique, it is proved that the system admits a globally bounded classical solution provided that χ + ξ <µ/2 and there exists a constant β* > 0 is sufficiently small for all β1, β2 < β*.

Existence and extinction of solutions for parabolic equations with nonstandard growth nonlinearity

Ayazoglu, Rabil; Alisoy, Gulizar; Akbulut, Sezgin; Aydin, Tuba Agirman

In this paper, we consider an initial boundary value problem for a class of p(·)-Laplacian parabolic equation with nonstandard nonlinearity in a bounded domain. By using new approach, we obtain the global and decay of existence of the solutions. Moreover, the precise decay estimates of solutions before the occurrence of the extinction are derived.

Construction of a new generalization for n-polynomial convexity with their certain inequalities

Kadakal, Mahir; İşcan, İmdat; Kadakal, Huriye

In this paper, we first construct a new generalization of n-polynomial convex function. That is, this study is a generalization of the definition of "n-polynomial convexity" pre-viously found in the literature. By making use of this construction, we derive certain inequalities for this new generalization and show that the first derivative in absolute value corresponds to a new class of n-polynomial convexity. Also, we see that the obtained results in the paper while comparing with Hölder, Hölder-İşcan and power-mean, improved-power-mean integral inequalities show that the results give a better approach than the others. Finally, we conclude our paper with applications containing some means.

Angle Conceptions of Students with Learning Disabilities and Hearing Impairments; [Öğrenme Güçlüğüne Sahip ve İşitme Engelli Öğrencilerin Açı Kavrayışları]

Güven Akdeniz, Dilşad; Gürefe, Nejla; Arikan, Ahmet

The angle concept is central to the development of geometry knowledge, which is important and functional for everyday life. In this context, the aim of this study was to examine the understanding of the angle concept of middle school students with learning disabilities (LDs) and hearing impairment (HI). The participants of this study, which was a case study, were identified with the criterion and convenience sampling methods. The participants were two students, one of whom with LDs and the other had a HI, each of whom was in grade 6. Data collected through individual clinical interviews with the students were analyzed using the cross-case analysis method. According to the findings of the study, the angle conception of both students was limited to the shape of the angle, and both students were aware of the concept of direction in the angle, but the student with the LD perceived the angle more statically, and did not have enough knowledge about the angle measurement or its unit. It was seen that the student with the HI confused the angle and angle measure, but was aware of the various angles according to their measures.
