Şahin, Recep Uğurcan; Gökhan, Nalbant Kemal; Keskin, Abdulkadi̇R; Özdemir, Yavuz; Keskin, Abdurrahman

This study aims to identify the determinants of foreign direct investment (FDI) in the textile sectors in Poland, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Czechia and Türkiye. The study assesses these criteria through paired comparisons conducted by experts who have a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in the field and analyses them using the IT2 Fuzzy Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to the Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) technique. According to the findings, the criteria with the highest degree of importance are national security, inflation rate, patent and trademark protection, transportation networks and market size. On a country-by-country basis, Poland has a higher investment attraction potential compared to other countries according to the criteria of openness, corruption, legal regulations and privatization policies, import and export quotas, education and professional status, renewable energy resources, sustainability, intellectual property protection, patent and trademark protection and national security. Hungary scores highest on import and export quotas and tax rates, while Slovakia stands out on import and export quotas and waste management/environmental regulations. Romania scores highest on profitability and debt financing, labour costs and import and export quotas. Czechia scores highest on inflation rate, political stability, legal regulations and privatization policies, economic incentives, general trade policies, import and export quotas and cultural situation and lifestyle. Türkiye scores the highest in terms of market size, GDP growth rate, access to raw materials and markets, technological infrastructure and innovation, transport networks, production sites, energy production, import and export quotas and business-friendly approaches.

Examining the Criteria Affecting Corporate Social Responsibility in Businesses from the Consumer Perspective Using the Pythagorean Fuzzy Entropy Technique; [İşletmelerde Kurumsal Sosyal Sorumluluğu Etkileyen Kriterlerin Pisagor Bulanık Entropi Tekniğiyle Tüketici Perspektifinden İncelenmesi]

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) serves as a self-regulation mechanism for businesses and a framework for consumers to evaluate companies. Carroll's (1991) CSR pyramid categorises these responsibilities, which can differ depending on cultural and economic contexts. This study examines Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the context of Carroll's pyramid from the perspective of Turkish consumers, based on expert interviews analysed using the “Pythagorean Fuzzy Entropy” method. The results reveal that Turkish consumers prioritise businesses' “economic” responsibilities the most, followed by “philanthropic” responsibilities. “Ethical” responsibilities are ranked slightly lower, with “legal” responsibilities considered the least important in this context.

Measuring the Effectiveness of Post-Earthquake Social Policies Using the Intuitionistic Fuzzy SIWEC Method: The Case of the February 6 Kahramanmaraş Earthquakes; [Sezgisel Bulanık SIWEC Yöntemi Kullanılarak Deprem Sonrası Sosyal Politikaların Etkinliğinin Ölçülmesi: 6 Şubat Kahramanmaraş Depremleri Örneği]

Keskin, Abdurrahman; Kara, Mehmet Akif; Keskin, Abdulkadir; Besoluk, Erdal

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of social policies implemented in the aftermath of the February 6, 2023, Kahramanmaraş earthquakes. The research employed the Intuitionistic Fuzzy SIWEC technique, a multi-criteria decision making method. Eight experts with substantial field experience evaluated seven main criteria and forty-four sub-criteria. The findings indicate that social policies—particularly in the "food and basic needs" category (covering clean drinking water, hygiene products, the food supply chain, food safety, and the provision of special nutritional needs) and, more broadly, policies within the "health and education services" category—have been implemented successfully. In contrast, under the "employment and social security" category, efforts to combat informality, provide vocational training, grant tax exemptions, and support SMEs were deemed inadequate. Similarly, within the "basic infrastructure and public services" category, notable deficiencies were identified in urban planning and construction, in ensuring transparency and fairness in public social policies, and in restoring telecommunication and internet infrastructure. In addition policies targeting vulnerable groups and psychosocial support services were found to be relatively neglected.
