The aim of study is determine effect of taching based on mental image formation on reading comprehension skills of primary school third grade. The study was designed based on semi-experimental design with pre-test-posttest control group of quantitative research methods. The study's sample group consisted of 37 students who were selected from the students who were in the third grade of the state primary schools whose middle socio-economic level in Bayburt province center was in the fall term of 2017-2018 academic year and who were selected as experimental and control group. In this study, the data were collected through two reading comprehension tests consisting of informative and narrative texts developed by the researchers. In the study, it was concluded that there is no significant difference between the narrator and informative text post-test scores of the third grade students who receive or do not receive mentally image-based instruction.

The reading comprehension is an important concept not only in person's educational life but also in every aspect of his life. The study aims to determine the relationship between level of using reading comprehension strategies and level of reading comprehension achievement of primary school fourthgrade students in Turkish lesson. The population of study that based on relational screening model consists of 938 fourth-grade students who receive education in the academic year 2016-2017 in 44 primary schools in the province of Bayburt. The sample of the study consists of 503 fourth grade students who are selected according to the proportional cluster sampling method and are not included in the test preparation work. The data of the study were collected by the "Reading Comprehension Achievement Test" prepared by the researcher and the "Reading Comprehension Strategies Scale" developed by Susar Kırmızı (2006). The data of study were analyzed by SPSS. 17 program. Findings in the study showed that the level of using the reading comprehension strategies of the students was "sometimes" and the level of reading comprehension achievement was "moderate". Furthermore, it was found that there was a positive and highly significant relationship between the level of using the reading comprehension strategies and level of reading comprehension achievement of primary school fourthgrade students
