In the history of Islamic thought, the Hanbali school, known for its rigid stance on theological matters, underwent significant intellectual transformations under the influence of political and intellectual developments in Baghdad during the 4th to 6th centuries AH. In this regard, Mustafa Karatay’s work, The Ash’arization of Hanbalism: The Case of Baghdad in the 4th-6th Centuries AH, thoroughly examines the interaction between Hanbali and Ash’ari thought. This study approaches the relationship between the two schools not from an antagonistic perspective but rather in terms of interaction, analyzing the intellectual exchange between Hanbalism and Ash’arism through prominent scholars and theological issues. Karatay’s work provides an in-depth examination of the Hanbali school’s orientation toward Ash’ari thought, framed within the scientific and political dynamics of the period, thus offering an insightful perspective on the interplay between these two schools of thought.</dc:description><dc:date>2024</dc:date><dc:type>Review</dc:type><dc:identifier>https://rdlopen.rawdatalibrary.net/r/bayburt/16267</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>https://doi.org/10.18403/emakalat.1589333</dc:identifier><dc:language>tr</dc:language><dc:relation>EMakalat Mezhep Araştırmaları Dergisi</dc:relation><dc:rights>info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess</dc:rights><dc:type>info:eu-repo/semantics/article</dc:type><dc:identifier>https://bayburt-rdlopen.rawdatalibrary.net/tr/items/bayburt/16267</dc:identifier></oai_dc:dc></metadata></record></GetRecord></OAI-PMH>
